Realizou-se esta noite a cerimónia dos Óscares da Academia para o cinema, e sem muitas surpresas, O Discurso do Rei foi o grande vencedor mas ao mesmo tempo ficou aquém das expectativas, tendo amealhado quatro Óscares dos doze para que estava nomeado, ganhou então, Melhor Filme, Melhor Argumento Original, Melhor Actor e Melhor Realizador.
Natalie Portman e Christian Bale levaram também um galardão para casa, tal como eu esperava, a primeira tendo ganho Melhor Actriz em Cisne Negro e o segundo Melhor Actor Secundário em The Fighter - Último Round.
Para Melhor Filme de Animação, tal como pensava, Toy Story 3 levou a melhor a Como Treinares o Teu Dragão, tendo também vencido o prémio de Melhor Canção Original.
Já a Rede Social ficou com três Óscares, enquanto A Origem também brilhou ganhando as categorias técnicas somando o mesmo número de prémios que O Discurso do Rei. Segue-se então a lista completa dos vencedores:
